Our training curriculum is aligned with the latest guidelines from British Council, IDP, and Cambridge, covering both paper-based and computer-delivered IELTS formats. The IELTS test has four modules including Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes), and Speaking (11–14 minutes). The total test time is about 2 hours and 45 minutes. IELTS sections are designed to evaluate a candidate's key English skills, including vocabulary and fluency.
In the IELTS listening test, you will be given four audio clips played once, with each correct answer earning one mark that contributes to your band score. It assesses your ability to comprehend spoken English in various contexts, including real-world situations. The assessment involves a series of recordings featuring conversations, monologues, and discussions by native-language speakers with different accents. In total 40 questions, question types including multiple-choice, Map or plan labelling, Form/Summary/Sentence completion, etc all within 30 minutes. An extra 10 minutes provided for transferring your answers to the answer sheet. This section is common to both the academic and general tests.
You will be listening to 4 audio to answer the questions. The audios are as follows,
Recording 1: Day-to-day life conversation between two people on any topic.
Recording 2: Social context monologue spoken by a native language speaker.
Recording 3: A discussion on any education-related topic by two or more people will be played.
Recording 4: Monologue by a speaker about education trends, its curriculum, admission process, etc.
The IELTS reading test is a 60 minute task with 40 questions provided. It used to assess your overall reading abilities and comprehension of texts. The test measures practical reading skills through texts related to general interest topics and everyday issues, such as advertisements, job descriptions, and instruction manuals, for the General Training test. For the Academic Training test, the texts are more academically oriented, often sourced from books, journals, and newspapers. This module consists of 14 different question types including matching headings, locating information, short answer questions, true or false, summary completion and more.
The IELTS Reading test is divided into two types,
IELTS Academic Reading: Consists of 3 passages with 40 questions to be answered in 60 minutes (passages from books, magazines, journals or newspapers).
IELTS General Reading: Contain 3 sections. Section 1 contains shorter texts related to ‘social survival’. Section 2 related to ‘workplace survival’. Section 3 contains long text related to ‘general reading’. Total 40 questions, to be answered in 60 minutes.
The Writing task will be conducted within a 60-minute timeframe, where you will be required to write a 150-word essay for 20 minutes followed by a 250-word essay in 40 minutes. Task 2 is similar for both IELTS versions. The writing tasks are as follows.
The writing tasks for both academic and general are as follows.
IELTS Writing Academic Task 1: Write 150 words describing visuals (charts, maps, tables, diagrams).
IELTS Writing General Task 1: Write a 150-word formal, informal, or semi-formal letter.
Task 2 (Common): Write a 250-word essay giving opinions (agree/disagree, discuss views, solutions, pros/cons, or double questions).
The IELTS Speaking test is the same for both General Training and Academic Training test-takers. This face-to-face interview with a certified IELTS examiner assesses your spoken English skills in real-life situations and everyday communication within an English-speaking environment. The test lasts for 11-14 minutes and consists of three rounds: the introduction round, the long-run speech round, and the follow-up round. Throughout the test, the examiner will evaluate the candidate’s pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and grammar.
IELTS Speaking Part 1 (Introduction): Examiner asks personal questions about yourself and your experiences.
IELTS Speaking Part 2 (Cue Card): Speak for 2 - 3 minutes on a given topic after 1 minute of preparation.
IELTS Speaking Part 3 (Follow-up): Discuss and share opinions with the examiner related to your Part 2 topic for 3 - 4 minutes.
